Malaysian prawns … Malaysian prawns would be great. I viited Joe thompson at Thompson Prawn farm in NC. He was amazing and very inspirational. I am now trying to decide what will go on my 4 acre mini farm. I will maximize the use of the entire property over the years. Not knocking warehouses because they are going to take the food industry to a whole new era. I just can’t build one yet. You have got the right idea Zenoptic.
the floating … the floating stuffs, reminds me over the ancient aztecs trick in aquaponics. lol. never thought it can be used again. thanks, inspiring.
Hi,
I plan to … Hi,
I plan to deploy Aquaponics on my indoor fish farm as a means to filter out ammonia from the fish water. I deploy big fish tanks of 40 m3 of water each. I need to calculate the optimum plant population as well as hydroton quantity to achieve perfect filtering of this water quantity. Is there a proven analogy (i.e., plant population and/or hydroton quantity to fish water quantity) that ensures a well-balanced nitrogen cycle? Your assistance would be invaluable.

I recently found a … I recently found a local asian mega grocery that had a fish and seafood section where they have live fish (and lobsters, crabs and mollusks) where I can buy full sized live tilapia. This may also be a decent option to help aquaponics enthusiasts get started.
If the medium used … If the medium used for the lettice is rock wool then it is over watered and has been watered from the top so if it is then tip is to water from bottom (won’t go green as alge is then going to fight for nutes and throw the nutes out of balance) and less water so the rock wool stays light in colour not dark like in video.
You might want to … You might want to consider replacing your goldfish with tilapia, which, though they may require some heat in the water during winter, grow to eating size (1.5 lbs) in about 7 months, so you can grow edible fish along with your fruits and vegies and make the entire system more productive.
Love it! Keep us … Love it! Keep us posted. GREAT WORK. Maybe you can be the first to clone and grow dog`s lol mine wont let me go to my greenhouse without him and my house cat stays in my indoor grow room. They love this stuff as much as we do I think. Dont leave us hanging. Let us know how it goes. Again great work.
Seems to me like … Seems to me like shrimpd would be do-able. Don’t they raise shrimp commercially in shallow pools? Seems like I remember Heritage High School doing something like that in their 4H or something.
Extremely cool grow … Extremely cool grow system. That would be so awesome to have fresh herbs and spices all the time or to be able to grow some greens year round.
Thanks for the video.
Monsanto has … Monsanto has purchased all the seed companies- even if the names haven’t changed yet, they ARE Monsanto. sad but true, it’s called a fascist monopoly.
What a fabulous little set up. Metal halide, huh? Interesting. Good choice for economy, I think. Mostly used in indirect lighting applications it’s interesting to see its spectrum is satisfying your garden.

Screens and misting, I’ve not tried that yet myself. I’ve always used the flood and drain type or the root bundle in an oxygenated tub.

I would check my fish count often too, with that puppy love thing going on
